Over the past 15 years, Biotehnos has participated annually in Romania’s National Research Program through projects awarded to us in competitions organized within our field, while also contributing to international programs and European-funded projects in research, innovation, and technology transfer. As a result, the company’s research infrastructure has significantly expanded, enhancing its scientific and methodological potential, allowing us to participate as an expert partner in international projects.

Biotehnos’ flagship product is an original medicine called ALFLUTOP®, an injectable solution made from an extract of small marine fish, based on a patented invention— the result of our own research.

Biotehnos is the manufacturer of the active substance in ALFLUTOP® and has entered into a partial manufacturing contract for the primary packaging operation with Zentiva, a pharmaceutical company with a long-standing tradition in Romania.

Biotehnos distributes its products in Romania, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia.

The Quality System for production flows has been Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified since 2005 and complies with the provisions of the European Directive 2003/94/EC.

The company has chosen to implement the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 to ensure quality control across all company processes and activities. In December 2008, the company obtained certification for its Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001, ensuring that its development is based on environmental responsibility and the efficient management of all available resources.

Biotehnos operates a Drug Quality Control Laboratory, authorized at the European Union level, collaborating with companies developing new products or seeking to introduce medicines from outside the EU into the European market (conducting physico-chemical, microbiological, and biological analyses). For pesticide control, the laboratory is accredited according to ISO 17025.

Due to the way the company’s management, together with the entire team, has fulfilled its obligations to state authorities, suppliers, clients, patients, partner banks, and collaborators over the years, Biotehnos was nominated for the “Strongest in Romania 2015” award, alongside only 4% of companies registered in Romania—a further testament to our company’s reliability, stability, and strength. The selection criteria included revenue, profit, liquidity, capital ratio, number of employees, and the absence of debts to the state or contractors.

Biotehnos is committed to actively contributing to the collective effort of building a better society. Thus, the company has been continuously involved in sponsoring charitable activities, National Congresses and Conferences, equipping hospitals with medical devices, and repairing and outfitting schools and places of worship
